Anyone have any experience with the following receiver?

Delphi SKYFi2 XM Satellite Radio Receiver With Car Kit (SA10162)



I have some questions

1) how does it connect to your car
2) whats better XM or Sirus

Well i can answer you first question without seeing or owning it, see how it says "car kit" im guessing it attaches to ur car. As for #2 sirus has howard stern sooo yeah...

My truck is setup with xm, just because we had that when it first came out, and it was cheaper to get a second deck and service than switching service. The car kit in my truck has a small deck that sits on a platform that sticks wherever with some sort of adhesive tape that comes with it. Power is from the cig lighter. Then there's a small reciever that either goes on the dash or outside and sticks to your car. Mine's just run through the back window onto the roof of the truck.

it connects with either the cassette adapter, Line-In if your deck/head unit has it or with the built in fm transmitter.

As for which is better, it really depends. Sirius will have Stern in mid january, but XM has Opie and Anthony right now.

It's really personnal preference.

holy fuck do you just never give up? he wanted people who had legit answers. Guesses aren't what he wanted, and u said yourself u guessed.

Anyways, for satelite radio, there are 3 different optinos normally.

1-hardwired into an auxilary jack in the back of your deck if it has one.

2-It uses one of the radio transmitters and u set your deck to a certain station

3-tape deck (this sucks the balls)

With this specific kit if it doesn't mention a radio thing, it is gonna be hardwired. Assuming you have a deck that has the jack in it

my dad has one and he just took it to a shop and they hooked it up with no hassle for my dad. Although i have XM i think I would rather have Serous because it has more sports

yea my dad has it too, and you can either use the casssete tape thing or a radio transmitter with 2 or 3 different stations to choose from

i have sirius and the car kit is so simple to install yourself. Just place the antenna on your room, hide the cord under carpeting and it plugs in the cig lighter and uses the FM transmitter to goto your deck (same as the iTrip) Sirius will have howard on january 9th and RawDog Comedy is ridiculous. The only thing XM has that is better is opie and anthony and baseball. But sirius has football. Its SO WORTH IT. its so sick
