I liked the thread before about the 270 on tips. Question tho, since I will be landing unnatural on the rail should I learn unnatural first? Any tips to make sliding unnatural easier? for some reason I lean back when popping onto the rail which is very strange considering I wakeboard and snowboard regular (left foot forward) so it seems I shouldnt have a problem leading with my left foot... Any tips? maybe I am pressing off one foot more than the other or something but I really wanna get my unnatural slides and 270s and switch 270s down this year...
yea I am not sure where I was looking when I tried it last year, it probably wont be hard to learn as last year I was also pussy footing shit with a busted MCL all season when I could walk normal, I skied
So, pretend that you are sliding the regular way, now turn your head the opposite direction, BOOM UNNATTY! Just try it, worked for me. Just pretend you are sliding regular, but just sliding the opposite way.
I naturally slide with left foot first. I think of it as running and jumping on a skateboard. I think it's kinda weird how most people slide right foot first as natural. Considering most people don't skate "goofy". But yeah, learn rails unnatty before you start to spin and land unnatty on them. I've found that if you start early and learn both ways from the start, it makes things so much easier. yeah you'll fall a lot at first, but you'll be better in the long run.
I think thats what I'll do this season... last season was a wash because of my knee so this season early I will take the hits and try em unnatty right after I get reaquainted that way I am not settled into a rhythm with natural
just go for it best way to learn, and then youll notice you slowly get better each time and try to remember the feeling of slidding the rail.
I LOVE DOWN RAILS!
it's really not that hard just think about doing it the same. Bassically don't let nerves get the better of you. it'll feel wierd the first few times but once you get used to it it's super easy.
Just keep hitting the rail until you get it. It's just like learning rails all over again and once you learn it, you do it everytime. No easy way out, just go out and hit it until you get it.
