ok, these are possibly 2 of the most amazing bands/ amazking ski music ever made, but i was wondering if there are any other super sick band out there that sound like afi or that sound like misfits, anyone know?
if you like misfits you might like the ramones, their live stuff is better and Tiger Army. If you like A.F.I. you might like Rise Against or Good Riddance.
distillers is also good to ski to, and ska is too, but only on powder days, or crappy days. Leftover cracks pretty good to ski to, and so is the unseen.
i couldn't agree more. its very different, but every bit as good. it would have been better percieved if they like made up an alias and released it under that name.
Yeah I think alot of the hate stems from the fact that they signed onto a major record label.
I've also heard many people say that they became all "emo" to fit in with mainstream music once they joined that major label. It was easy to see the direction their music was heading. The Art of Drowning has some similar types of songs as Sing The Sorrow.
The new AFI Cd is supposedly coming out early 2006, and I'm looking forward to it.
exactly. But I had heard that AFI dropped the new big record company and left it for the small 'core' company that they had started out with. Which is one reason why their new cd release date keeps getting changed and put back.
Meaning that they just gave up alot of money in order to make quality music instead. They have my respect for that, and I don't ever want to hear another kid tell me that they sold out.
I'd have to say a tie between Black Sails In The Sunset and The Art Of Drowining for my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of their first two albums, but everything from Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes is really good.
black sails was their first album when they really started to do big break downs and incorporate more instrumentals...it's funny how people think A.F.I. sold out and went soft...even tho davey havok wears lace gloves and women's clothing he's still a big fucking dude!!
yea, i didn't remember him being "big" either, but i'm 6'3" so i looked it up. a few of the stalker-sites agree he is about 5'8". i bet they are lying to make him look better lol
