A Trash Problem

Lets shoot our trash into space.

We humans on planet earth, are a guppy in the ocean that is the universe. When a guppy shits in the ocean the whole ocean doesn't become poluted. Hell when millions of guppies shit in the ocean it doesn't become poluted.

So lets shoot our garbage into space. Its natural. Living organisms expell their wase out of their bodies, otherwise they would become poisoned and die. So why don't we as humans, living in our body, planet earth, stop packing our crap internaly, and shoot it into outerspace. We are poisoning the only body we have.

think about it.

Launch the shit.

Yah but you'd have to get it out far enough to avoid the gravitational pull of at least the Earth and moon. Or else you'd end up with Saturn's rings of rock and ice and Earth's rings of soda cans and toilet paper.

i've beent thinking the same idea for quite some time. and why not compress it into a much smaller volume, then take a shuttle and launch the trash into the sun, burning it up. fool proof plan, though it'd be costly

I'm sure with the high tech wepons and shit we have these days we could shoot a canister of nuclear wase past our gravitational field. I mean, we did it with Voyager, that thing is as good as a canister of radioactive material now, just floating away in to nothing.

Well I think here's one of the issues... cost. It might cost quite a bit of money when your taxes are not only going to garbage collection, but to garbage collection, paying for rocket parts and the man hours that requires a launch. But yes... it would be cleaner.

that would be quite inneficient, the cost to shoot a rocket into space totally takes the idea out of play. Maybe in the future we will be able to do this

yeah that would be a good idea, we should gather all our waste and stuff and let it into space, then steal some nuclear weapons from another country and then shoot our huge pile of waste and blow it up into little bits and pieces so that they don't create meteoroids

Nothing wrong with the last idea.

Im guessing that it would pollute and waste a lot more to launch that garbage into space. The fuel canisters actually fall back to earth. And the fact it would cost too much.

i know that if you expose a styrofoam cup to the pressure of the bottom of the ocean, it will compress the cup into a tiny piece. If we could find a way to do this to tons of trash, we could considerably reduce the amount of space consumed by trash.

there's so much that isn't recycable, or recycling plants won't take. Even food waste from people is an enourmous amount of garbage. Recycling doesn't keep giant dumps from existing.

I actually read something about this. This one scientist suggested we build a giant mag-lev track that will accelerate a sled on it to supersonic speed. The track will be built at an angle near the end, so the sled is launched into the atmosphere. Kinda like a giant kicker. Anyway, the sled would be launched out of the earths gravitational field, and then we would be free of the trash. No rocket fuel or anything, just electricity to run the mag-lev.

Yeah, the maglev idea sounds good. Or just build a rediculously large tower with some sort of huge weighted lift tower, right out of the gravitational field. Or, the maglev would work too...

well no matter how we get it up there i think its rally a good idea.

Seriously outer space is incredibly massive - its so big its size is beyond our comprehension. Also outer space is meant to be expanding constantly at a ridicously fast rate. And the fact that there is no gravity means our shit can keep on floating...... and even after 10 millions years it would not have probably left our solar system!! Cool huh

So launching out shit into outer space is really a practical soloution to our increasing trash levels.

What are the hippies going to do about it?? Chain themselves to a comet?? Besides its good for the enviroment so the hippies should all just shut up
