What does a picture or video need to be in top rated?

What are the criteria? It seems like there are a few pictures with very high ratings that don't make it into the top rated list. With the amount of pictures that get added all the time, a great picture can go unnoticed without making onto top-rated.
I realize that we can't just have highest rated pictures up there, there has to be a mininum amount of votes.

I think it has to do with the number of rates vs the score of the rates. By getting an average of both, I think the more times rates with high scores makes the vid or pic go in the top

a ton to do with how much it is looked at. someone with an awsome history of posting sweet edits, like michaelclarke will post somthing and people will look at it tons, because he has a rep for posting dope edits. or if you have a awsome history with photography like stevexs2 then you post somthing and people look at it. the same with asac for paintings. It has a lot depending on your rep. on ns

Higher scores, but not just rated 1 time and given a 10, but like 200 times and it's a 9....I'm guessing maybe over 50 or 75 ratings make it elligble.

i don't think that it needs to be rated 50 times to be eligible. there are a lot of awesome photos out there that haven't been rated by 50 different people. I'd say more like 20-25 maybe?
