Cracks in 1080 edge

I have started grinding a lot more recently and I have noticed that I have 4 hairline cracks through my medal edge on my 1080 ski that is my front foot when I grind. The scratches are under my boot and a couple inches apart. Is this common? I searched and came up with nothing. BTW they still ski fine and the edge is not falling off or anything ....yet.

1080s seem to be bad about that. It all comes down to being light on your feet, and even that doesnt help in the long run. My chronics from last year are starting to get screwed up.
