there are a number of programs out there that specialize in recording streamed stuff, but I've found that you really don't need any special software to do it.
If you are running windows, you can use any program that records audio to do it (yes. even Microsoft Sound Recorder)
Here's how.
1. Go to Volume Control
-you may have a speaker in your system tray, double clicking on it will open it up.
-otherwise, go to start, programs, accessories, entertainment, volume control.
2. In volume control, go to Options, then properties.
3. Click the radio button that says 'adjust volume for' Recording.
-Below, make sure that the 'stereo mix' box is checked.
4. hit OK.
5. This'll now open up a window for your 'recording control' instead of normal volume.
The microphone one probably has the select mark checked underneath it. This means that when you hit record in any audio program it is going to record from your microphone port. If you want to record from your line in port, you can check the line in port instead. etc.
But what you want to do is select STEREO MIX.
-Stereo mix refers to any sound that is going to be passing out your sound card and to your speakers. So anything you hear on websites, videos, games, streaming music on your speakers is referred to as STEREO MIX. So if you want to record any of that stuff, select STEREO MIX.
6. Now, go to any audio program and hit record. Any sound going through your soundcard it will record for you.
If you want to dowload audio software that'll do this too you can use 'any sound recorder', all sound recorder, or musicmatch jukebox. Also, you can search
www.download.com for 'record stereo mix' and I'm sure it'll pull up some programs.
But all what those programs do is change that recording setting to stereo mix like I showed you, which you don't need any special program to do. Although, they'll tell you differently.
