a couple times last year when doing jumps i overshot em and landed flat smashing my heel. It hurt to walk on for more than a week. Does anyone else have sensitive heels? i moisturize everyday but it doesnt seem to help... any solutions
yea thats what i do after i hurt it. the problem is it keeps reoccuring off every little small drop i do when i land flat. boom im out for a week it fuckin sucks. i just got last years salomon teneighty boots though and they have a padded sole so that might help..
dont push it man, i hurt em badly last season and just thought it was a bruse...kept skiing and overshooting (thanks early season hl park on blackcomb for shit tiny jumps). i ended up stress fracturing my right heel, 2 months in a cast, 2 months on crutches and i still cant ski this season man. its fucked up. dont push it, rest, ice, go to a dr, see physio, check into getting heel inserts for your boots, anything but ski, make sure your %100 before getting back in your boots...i went and pushed it by skiing the summer park and re broke it, shits not cool dude.
its def. a problem with your skin, keep moisturizing. maybe even 2 times a day.
dude you might just of bruised your heals but like cj said, it is sometimes alot worse. dont risk it. see a doc and a physio and get that shit worked out.
Most likely you bruised em. I did the same to my heels after trying to clear these Tremblant tables two seasons ago. It was humid and the snow was so slow. I was tucking from where I couldn't see the jump and still couldn't clear it. I cased it too many times.
Just use good judgement and a doc's opinion couldn't hurt.
yo dude i had the same problem last year. i went to the doctor, and turns out i broke this little piece of my heel off. some people have these weird feet, where there's a little extra bone off the end of the heel, and when you land REALLY hard on it, it can break. i tried to ignore it for a week, but it got reaaaaally bad so i was just like yeah fuck that, doctor time.
so get that checked out, you might have what i had.
well it doesnt hurt that bad and it always gets back to normal after about 2-3 weeks. so i might just be continually bruising it in which case i should get a gelly insole
I hurt both of my heels last year after stupidly hitting a cliff with an icy flat landing. It hurt really bad for like 2 weeks. Just land switch cause sometimes it takes a lot of pressure out of your heels and puts it on your toes and the front of your skis.
hapens to me to guessing its compund fracture i just let it heal on my own cause knew doctor would say i could ski were an ace bandage around for like 3 weeks and wwhen you ski were alot socks
yeah, back in middle school i had this thing called seavers disease, and its basically like oshgood slaughters but with your heels, intsead of knees, and it's basically that your growth plate is super sensitive because it hasn't fused yet.
yea im pretty much in the middle of growing so it might be that plate thing. it fuckin sucks though cus im always worried bout wrecking my heel. Specially since im hitin up whistler during spring break
