Im taking my level at Lakeridge Dec 27-30, with 2 other guys (James and John) anyone else taking the course? Or is anyone else gunna be there just to ride.. post i guess closer to the time when you know when your going, but ill be there to riding after the course each night
same here i took mine at the end of last year and it was at glen eden and their park was shit i should have waited till this year and taken it at MSLM or something
Im not sure about discounts, but I am a CSIA member, and have been for like 5 years, I dont think I've used any discounts from the csia ever...
I think the park & pipe course is a good idea from the csia, but they've headed in their own direction when they fell out with the CFSA (Canadian Freestyle Ski Assoc.) over how things were being tought and other issues... so now either side doesnt recognize the other as qualified/certified (they once did)...even tho you are cert. either way . I am obviously bias here in my opinions due to the fact that I am a CFSA level 1 course conductor or "learning Facilitator" if you like. The CSIA has really no background in park and pipe (especially rails) and the CFSA has been in it from the begining at the grass roots level--to the elite level. The progression levels for example in the csia course for rails is starting with No poles...I dont know about you guys but I like my poles where they are (in my hands) when I do rails... there is a lot of little differences in the courses, and it does take longer to get fully certified with the cfsa...but there is a course this weekend at MSLM...so if you're interested in it, PM me, and I can help you out.
i love ranting. and sometimes raving.
^ dude you get discounts on lift tickets at every resort in CANADA with your CSIA membership, why havent you been using that man... unless you dont buy tickets, and then, touche
Oh and just to add to my rant, in the csia park and pipe.... they say minimum requirement is to slide a "Plastic rail", which i find ridiculous, and unsafe...PVC is no good....Dont do it, start on a box, or a low key metal rail.(learning or teaching)
ya pvc is soooo shit. i made a rail in my backyard for my bro thats just starting rails. adn i hit it the first time and it cracked liek crazy and tore apart
like anything the more cert you get the better ppl treat you so i've heard when you get your lvl 2 csia that you get pro deals at most shops and shit like that and better deals and the hills with the tickets
so i was there today for first day, and there was (on twins):
me
lil jon
james
the 2 guys on salomons
scott
the guy on atomics
and i think there is someone else im forgetting, hmm.. anyways it was good.
i like it alot more too... dagmar: you need some lines... this scattered setup is ridiculous in such a small park, features cant be side by side when there are only 4
lakeridges beginer park has mor eflow then all of dagmar:
rail, rail, jump. all in a line, today i was able to
unnatural, natural to 270 out, 540 off the booter (hucked)
point blank dagmar is bad. I like the boxes and rails, but comon, look at that horseshit pipe, they'd be better off to fill it in with snow and groom it flat! and those park staff do fuck all...but I wouldnt do much either if I didnt get paid. Bottom line is that it could be OK, but the design is poor. And someone please tell them that Spines are garbage and a waste of space, especially the ones that dagmar builds...it pisses me off...why dont they make lines you can do...instead of weaving all over the hill trying to maintain speed.... They have a little bit of potential but Dagmar will just shit-the-bed again
