another thing...when u use if...clamp the tip for more than 24 hours so that it can hardden fully and cure that way u have a better chance it wont break.
my 1080's split too, but it was before the warranty was over so i got a new pair, wish i could have just gotten store credit and gotten different skis though
make sure you get a SLOW CURING 2 part epoxy and that the temperature range is good for the conditions you ski in. a quick curing epoxy will not hold the topsheet on because the ski flex puts a lot of stress on it and the bond is not that strong.
ya i had the 1080s too, they split, i send to back to salomon and they appoxed them but they were back fairly qquickly so i admagine they didnt leave the clamp on for long as they split again. But apoxy would be your best bet.
