Ski tips are splitting

my ski tips are startin to split its not bad but i dont want it to get worse.... any one know how i can fix this on my own like some glue or sumthing

yes, two part epoxy would be your best bet for this problem

another thing...when u use if...clamp the tip for more than 24 hours so that it can hardden fully and cure that way u have a better chance it wont break.

rivets, get your local ski shop to throw some epoxy in, then get 3 rivets in the tips.

yea dude. are they the newer salomon with their honeycomb spaceframe... they are low quality if you ask me

my 1080's split too, but it was before the warranty was over so i got a new pair, wish i could have just gotten store credit and gotten different skis though

that happened to my lines last year and i just took em to my local shop and they repaired the for like 5 bucks

make sure you get a SLOW CURING 2 part epoxy and that the temperature range is good for the conditions you ski in. a quick curing epoxy will not hold the topsheet on because the ski flex puts a lot of stress on it and the bond is not that strong.

go for a rivet with a washer for backing so it wont pull

yeah a rivet works well, like what k2 skis alreasy have in them. im assuming you mean delaminating, if they are splitting the other way you're fucked

make sure they're good and dry, like leave them inside over night. then id epoxy and rivet them, one rivet would be fin but id go for 3

ya i had the 1080s too, they split, i send to back to salomon and they appoxed them but they were back fairly qquickly so i admagine they didnt leave the clamp on for long as they split again. But apoxy would be your best bet.
