How do I make a border in photoshop?

Anybody know how I can take a photo and give it a border in photoshop? Stupid question I'm sure, but I don't know much about photoshop...

make a rectangle where you want your border to be. then go to edit > stroke...

in the window that pops up select the color you want and how many pixels you want it to be and press enter.
