NS would be nothing without the members. Everyone on the staff realizes this, which is why guys like nopoles and bishop do everything they can to serve ns and help make this a better place.
The staff listens to and respects every opinion they get, especially the criticisms.
Nopoles spent months on the last site revision, and even though he personally may have been completely happy with everything, he then changed, moved, and redesigned things (like picture thumbnail size) based on members' feedback.
Making ns the way that members want it IS one of the primary goals, but there are a few factors that come into play.
NS costs money. Dedication/donation from the staff itself, sponsors, and donating members are the very thing that has kept it alive. Because sponsors pay for it, they are one force which helps determine how ns will grow and in what direction.
Most of the staff (especially the 'red' guys) have donated and given up so much for ns. Given up time, energy, girlfriends, among other tings in order to see ns grow. They have worked with ns, seen it from the ground up, in good times and in bad.. So of course their input hold a little more weight.
But before anything is implemented, they try to make sure it is in the best interest of the members, and take all feedback to heart.
You can even make your feedback hold alot more weight. How? Earn it. Respect is earned, not given.. Post quality. Prove that you are not like everyone else. Make a difference. All the administration/staff/mods keep our eyes out for members who are respectfu, post quality, and try to help out in different ways. These people are much appreciated. And anything they have to say does hold alot of bearing.
Also, money talks. If you enjoy ns and want it to stick around, any donation is a big help and will be greatly appreciated no matter how small.
There's a great many number of people on the donator's list who have put their money where their mouth is.
They don't just say how much they like ns but show it by supporting it. These people are all very much appreciated and respected by all the staff on ns, and you best believe that we are all going to listen if they have something to say or have suggestions. Because they've already proven that they want to help ns, and shown support in one way.
Also, One problem is that in a website of some 70,000 + members you can't please everyone. You can please some of the people all the time, or all the people some of the time.. But it's absolutely impossible to please all the people all the time.
For every one person that hates the way something is designed, there's bound to be others who love it.
Lastly, Realize that many of the things suggested lately, the site admins are aware of. The site admins know and completely agree that some sections need to be brought back and changed. The cults, trick tips section, rating system, and news section among other things all need to get reworked. They know this. There just simply is not enough man-power and time in each day to get things done as quickly as they'd like to. But sit back, it will be hear soon.
