When you hit a kicker, how do you pop? When I hit the kicker I always try to pop hard, but if I pop hard I am unable to bend my knees, because my legs are extended because of the popping... so I am unable to huck... How do you do it?
dont over analyze it, just do whats natural and pop off the jump, it should be instinctive pretty much. dont think about it too much and you should do fine
its natural to me now, dont pop mad hard just give it a nice up and make sure its at the right time, and if your hucking just set harder, a bigger pop wont help that much
set a little carve off the lip. you can pop hard but as soon as you get in the air the weightlessness associated with flying should allow your knees to gently come up to your chest.
Go faster and just put pressure in the fronts of your boots and release it when you hit the lip. That way you're still in an athletic position, and you also have the air you need.
poping isnt necesarily for more air, its mostly just to set your self in the air, with good and stable position. cant splain but its more of a trial and error thing
as people said before, keep forward pressure on your shins/tongues of the boots, maybe set a slight carve and stiffen your legs for the pop, its not about an abrupt jumping motion, its about releasing into whatever trick you are doing
Im not all about the gorilla steeze I see kids doen these days but I like to stay compact (ready for impact?) haha
just be careful about the speed/pop issue I tend to overexagerate my pop which means I need less speed almost always contrary to what I think
butt ski off the jump and then once you get into the air, place your poles on top of your head so they look like moose horns. Then make a stupid noise and wipe out adn then stand on the lip of the jump for a while. After that, buy a starter jacket and wear it.
same as jumping on a tramp. pop off the balls of your feet. when you get the hang of it you can change it up to popping past your toes on way back on your heals for nollies and ollies.
