what do they do. i didnt really understand the site. it pretty much spys on your computer or what.

basically, it will make it so only programs approved by the TCPA system work on your computer. The cost to get a program approved will be huge, ending open source and freeware as we know it. basically, no more pirating, but also no more freeware by non big buisnesses. Also, it will track everything you do on your computer and sending it back to say, microsoft, to make sure you aren't pirating, which is good, but also a complete invasion of your privacy.

but downloading of anything, legally or not would be illegal and/or impossible if it weren't TCPA approved.

who exactly are they? the internet is not just on place its every computer in the world all hooked together run by the poeple that own them i highly doubt everyone is gonna shit a brick when these guys say "downloading bad" and were gonna keep doing it in my opinion., i mean no on is gonna stop me from sharing files so fuck them.

it's the computer companies themselves: your computer with TCPA will not accept non TCPA approved files. just read what there is on the site.

there is no way it will go down, invasion of privacy, and limiting free speech. And if it does im sure someone will find a way around it. some crazy hacker out there.

if it passes, how hard will it be to manually remove the chip? not that hard. there will be workarounds

except they are planning for a detonation device to be placed under the chip to blow up everything within a 3 mile radius

America needs to remember that it isn't the only fucking country that uses the internet

someone would figure out ways around it such as: taking the chips out, reconfiguring the system, something to that extent

But also i dont think that they are trying to stop porn addicts or anything like that, i think the main issue is that they are trying to stop the "bearshares" and the "limewires" and programs that they call "illegal"

i personally think that the general american consensis is that downloading is ok, especially for the future generation, that is, us because how many of your friends give a shit whether or not you downloaded that song without paying for it

there is absolutely no way the supreme court would allow that.

downloading limewire is not illegal. it is possible to use limewire for legal purposes. what is illegal is what you might do with limewire. however, it is illegal to block the software because courts have found that it is legal

I thought this was interesting considering especially the first man as he is in the department of defense, which means, this idea is currently in our government

my guess is in the rare possibility of it ever going down.. a great number of people would simply boycott the products, make their own computer systems and start a new inter-network free of it.
