Replying to Crichton pro review
finally, i was able to get a ride on these babies. waiting all year and it's amazing to be back on the slope again. well this review will compare to the foil alot since that is the only other pair of 05/06 skis i have tried(i owned the crichton).
it's a bit different to get used to since they are center mounted and they are 10cm longer than what i had last year. i find myself catching/hooking my tail with my opposite skis a few times...but i heard it's usual for this to happen when you switch from triditional mount to center.
they are stiffer than the foil, but yet they feel almost the same weight as the foil. that could because the foil i demoed was on demo bindings as appose to a p12jib. i was able to carve both gs and salom turn with ease considering how much bigger they are(175, i'm 5'7"). you can really push your edges into the turn or ease up a little as appose to the foil, they flex right away. that is good for the foil if that is what you are into, kinda reminds me of an automatic transmition on a car as appose to a standard. swing rate is great, i was able to do 180 with ease off the ground but still have trouble doing a full 3(again 10cm length changed from my last ski). they seem to be pretty good when bombing down the hill, no chatter or uneasyness just point and go(i'm 155lbs). the foil, i found them a bit wobbly when going full throttle. switch was exceptional, i found myself doing full parallel turn on these first time going switch since last season with complete comfort. more surprising was how well they revert on snow and switch 180s. i am quite impress that they feel like they are a smaller skis than they actually are.
i haven't been able to do any park test yet as today was my first day out and the park won't be open until 2 weeks time and pipe in a month. i'll give a full park review once i have done some park stuff on these skis.
overall impresssion on these skis, very impressed. my first pair of ski center mount and i was able to do turns like on my triditional mounted skis. swing rate is awsome even with the added length. ollieing was an ease with these puppy, but yet stiff enogh when you want them to be. they don't sound all weird when you hit the skis together as the foil does, the foil sounds weird when you hit them together. park review will be up in about 2-3 weeks.
