fuck that...let his ass die...he killed three or four people and raped some others. plus he started one of the deadliest gangs in america. oh but...he wrote some books telling people that killing people is bad. that makes him a savior! its such fuckin bullshit. i can make books about not killing people but if i kill four people i deserve the punishment that was sentenced for me. kill his bitch ass!
so what if he killed 4 people and started a gang? shooting him full off pottasium cyanide or whatever isnt going to make the people come back to life or make The Crips disband. he obviosly has something intellectual and posotive to offer the world now, so why not let him finish his life?
and then when he resorts to his ways and kills someone else they just are going to say "oops, didnt see that coming, oh well." yeah, i doubt it. that is like saying they shouldnt have arrested ted bundy because he said he was sorry.
all you kids who just say let him die are fuckin ignorant and you should read about situations before you make gay posts. yea tookie started the crips and thus being one of the most OG's in the US killed a few people. yes that is terrible, but this man has now done more for anti youth gangs then anyone else. if you kill him what is the point? if you dont he will just continue to de promote youth gang violence.
^its not like theyre gonna let him out of prison. they just do want to kill him. he was sentenced to death and he should have to take the consequences of his actions. just because he said killing people is bad doesnt give him any right to escape his consequences. im not really sure why people are supporting a murderer and a rapist...it just doesnt make sense
so what youre effectively saying is that you can get away with doing something after the fact if you just apologize...in the general sense, that is what you just said. the point is that people must pay the sonsequences for their actions and not get off just because they did something noble after the fact
dude learn what you are talking about, he hasn't even apologized to the families because he still claims he is innocent, which might be the case because he was so high up in the crips that why would he have to kill anyone, I am not saying he should get away scott free, but he is a very useful tool, the amount of gang violence has decreased since he has spoken to the gangs, and his books show kids the troubles of getting involved with gangs. I don't think he should be killed, but yes he should be in prison
i didnt mean apologize literally...i meant it hypothetically. and i would claim my innocence too...but i think the claim about being high up is a lil irrational. just because he is high up does not mean he automatically doesnt kill people. i have not read into the details of his case as you prolly havent either (i may be wrong). this argument can go on forever because we have two different views on how criminals should be treated...i guess we will agree to disagree. but i think that the original sentencing should stand
ok...YOU, my friend, do not have the facts. He wrote a book because his lawyers told him to. It didn't do much to change anything. Gang task forces have lowered the murder rate among gangs and it isn't that significant either. I have heard numerous interviews w/ prison guards, supervisors and they all conclude that this man has no remorse, emotion and is a danger to society (ie. his influence is still intact, running things from prison). He is a killer and started a gang of killers, rapists, thieves and other generalized scum. I hope Arnold doesn't grant anything to his old buddy from Venice, Tookie, except that which the people have granted him.
i dont think he deservest the death penalty...life in prison yes..but not the death penalty. yea he did a lot of shitty things in the past and thats why hes in jail but it seems like he somehwat changed his life around while in prison and relized his mistakes and speaks out to stop others from making the shitty mistakes he did...so i think that giving him the death penalty would be wrong bueacs eh can do more good alive than dead..especially for young kids in citys and shit
we went over this in government and from what it seems he has turned around and made a lot of anti-gang support and put out books and something about nobel piece prize, i would give him life in prison not death, hes been more good than bad.
yeah not really. there were 2 non-white women on the jury. and his own friends testified against him. the guy was a liar from day 1 to save his ass and get out. he deserves death penalty
A quarter-century later, the trial that landed Crips gang co-founder-turned-peace advocate Stanley "Tookie" Williams on death row is drawing renewed focus as his Dec. 13 execution date nears. While his backers highlight his tale of atonement and anti-gang outreach from prison, debate over alleged irregularities and improprieties in his 1981 prosecution is bound to play out in the Capitol on Thursday as Gov. Schwarzenegger entertains his case for clemency.
There must be more to it than that. You can't acquit someone because their ethnic origin isn't represented in the jury. Considering he is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people (to be conservative) I would say he deserves the ultimate punishment - in Canada, that's 25 years behind bars less a day. On good behaviour, he would be granted parole in 8 years. I realize he's not being tried in Canada tho... so in the states it's either 3468494 years in prison or the death penalty.
actually, I think its 25 years period. There's no cumulative sentecing like in the states where ,I reckon, they just add up the sentences for all the crimes you commit. But, in Canada they like to do the less a day thing because it makes it an easier sentence and people can apply for parole earlier and what not. Our system is pretty lax.
I read one of his books for a sociology class. This class was when i was living in los angeles and my soc. prof had people come in and speak who have worked with him and within the system.in addition i read a book called doe or die by leon bing great book if you want to learn about gangs and how they work.
This person went in behind the scenes of the bloods and crips.
We had a person from CYA California Youth Authority come in and he mentioned whay williams has done in helping kids and in writing his book it is geared towards the youngs kids and scarry them and letting them know the path that awaits them if they join gangs.
I think Arnold should issue a stay he is more good in prison alive then dead. The good he can do the rest of his life in prison is better for our society then what he can contribute dead.
I would like to say i dont believe in the death penalty in any circumstance its the only way to make sure inocent people dont get exucuted.
Also killing someone is something that doesnt belong in a highly civilized country like the United States its for 3rd world countries.
It actually costs our government and you the taxpayer more money to exucute because of how long it takes apeals free lawyers court fees etc. It is a fact that its cheaper to keep a prisoner in jail for their life.
maybe for safety reasons...do the la riot or the watts riots ring a bell? a bunch of pissed off people in LA + a guilty verdict = idiotic destruction of people's own homes
i read all the articles i could find and listened to teh democracy now interview, he truly is trying to better the gang situation, should he die, no. should he spend a long ass time in jail? yes.
shut the fuck up... your some dumb ass bitch from the suburbs of america. you dont know SHIT.
All black people were removed from the jury by the prosecutor... "friends" don't testify against u in court... those are called snitches and they were obviously tryin to knock him off the top. Second of all, everyone who testified in the case, was later found to have lessened sentences in their own seperate cases... hahahaha.
think people... dont let what your mommy and daddy told you about society guide your mind... its all a load of shit...
Do I doubt he killed the guy? I don't know... isn't the government just as guilty for putting crack into the ghetto's of america? You know why crips started? It was a movement coming from the ghettos of Southern Cali to put an end to the shit that was going on in the community... but of course, we all know how it is hard to elevate yourself in society when everyone thinks your automatically a killer, liar, and that you deserve the hardest penalty possible.
The death penalty is bullshit. It doesn't solve anything. Convicts receive the death penalty because of the hate of narrow minded people. We should be bigger than that.
