So I sent my STL's into my local shop to get mounted last week..and they finally call me today saying that the binding i gave them...rossignol axial 110's with a regular brake does not fit. I had no idea the stl's needed a wide break. im going to ask them if they can just bend it but if they say they wont cause of shop policy or something...should i just buy the rossignol wide break they suggested

wtf, the 177 can't be much wider than the 167. Your shop can't bend the damn things a couple of mm?
You must've had the old grandpa shop dude working on them. But yeah ask them if the brakes can be bent a little. Thats so weird that a park ski needs wide brakes. But I always just check before I take mine. And if they're not quite there, go to the garage, and break out the vice and pliers.

yea i know...im pretty sure the dimensions of the 177's are 112-82-104. Na my local shop is really sick and carries lots of park skis - all 4frnt, armada, line, k2, salomon, dynastar, volkl

at my shop, they needed bent a bit, and he was like, you bend um, or drop 40 on the wide ones. they understand, but for liability they cant do it.

The 177 Stl's have a 184ish waste. Most breaks only go to 80

i told my shop to try to bend my brakes to fit my 182 moships. :)
They said they would brake, so i got wide brakes.

I know you love your shop and everything, but maybe you need to pick them up, bend them yourself and go to a different shop this time. Save your ass $40. At least thats what I'd do.

my shoptech was like, no what the fuck ill just bend them to fit over the waist, when he was about to mount p18s on my ar5s and i asked if the brakes were to narrow. haha, way to go. that policy about not bending brakes is so fucked up. you should punch him in hin throat.

you guys are aware that by bending the breaks you void the manufacturers warranty of the binding.

never once in years of skiing have I had to use the warrenty for Looks. And if I really have a problem, I'd obviously bend them back before i warrentied them... and who's to say they didn't get bent "landing switch off of that 50 ft booter"? *wink* *wink*

Dude whatever you do DO NOT buy the wide brakes they will not work on those skis. They will catch when you land switch because the wide brake is designed to clear on a ski 88mm or wider. They absolutely must bend the narrower brake have them call rossi and all their other accounts and get their shit straight. Brake bending is totally legitimate and in no way goes against any legal mounting reccomndations your shop is just ignorant. A narrow brake can be safely bent to fit up to a 97mm waist ski and still deploy enough to stop the ski. What is the shops phone number I will call and talk to the manager if you'd like.

Start going to another fucking shop, that shit is ridiculous, a wide brake on those is going to be way too big and drag in the snow on a hard carve. They can easily be bent just a little bit to fit
