today will be 10th day in a row of landing on icey flat landings, spinning onto rails, hiking park for hours and bombing runs switch and my legs are straight up fucked. like they shake and stuff when im just standing waiting to drop in. What do you guys who ski almost everyday do to stop this shit from happening cause its still only preseason... like everytime I land off a rail now I yell out in pain. im thinking my green1080s might have something to do with it
Foam inserts to keep your calfs from getting bruised. I made my own, out of the same type of foam probably, but it didnt do much, jut got loose and the foam compacts and can't expand back. I dont think they'd work too good, gimmick alert.
I used to get shin bang all the the time cuz i was using these ghetto rear entrys, then last year i got 1080's thinking they'ed be good, for the first 2 months (when i skied mostly rails) they were pretty much fine, but then they turned on me and I had the worst shin pain imaginable, and i mean like my seg was shaking and shit when it got real bad and when I landed back seat once my ski week was done. I though something was up but instead of seeing a doc buz i figured hed know shit all i went to physio, so that kinda help but only cuz i didnt ski for 3 weeks while i was doing it. 3 Months later after many comps where I only did one jump refused ot take the second, i went to the doc and he said i needed a bone scan. So i took the scan (where they inject you with radio activ dye and the dye after a few hours goes into any craacks or fissures in ur bones) and when he told me the results i asked if i could see the xrays of teh bone scan and a perfect oval shape on my shins where they hurt was completely white (affected area). so basicly he say my leg was patially broken 9the fornt of my fibula had stress fractures a little over a cm deep) so that sorta explained teh pain............ BAM if this sounds like what any of you have see ur doc or you will get fucked, its been 6 months 6 ENTIRE MONTHS (beginning) of last may thats i havent SKIED,TRAPOLNED, DIVE INTO WATER, RUN ,HIKE HARD, JUMP INTO WATER, DO ANYTHING PHYSICAL EVEN MOST GYM EXCERSIZES, and absolutely anythnin else thats fun so go see ur doc....
that reminds me one time my sister hurt her leg. she went and got it xrayed and the doctor said the bone was fine it was probably shin splints or somthing. so she kept on skiing. the sombody fell on her leg and hurt it really bad and she went to the doc again and turned out she broke her leg. so she was in a cast and stuff. then a few weeks after that the doctor called and said that she had acctually broken her leg the first time and she'd been skiing on a broken leg for a month. The whole time she thought it was shinbang.
there was a comment about losing the tissue between your shin bone and skin, you dont have a lot there to begin with, i tore my shin open this summer, almost to the bone, it still hurts like shit sometime skiing, but i just strap my boots super super tight, and dont have any problems with it
when i cut my shin i was at woodward, and they were going to send me to the hospitol to get stiches, but my shin swelled up like a half inch thicker than normal, and the cut closed, so i didnt get stitches, a couple months later now, i wish i had, i have a huge scar, and serious tissue damage
