Replying to So i rode my ar5s for the first time yesterday... a little review
and they were so fucking stiff compared to what i have ridden my 3 earlier seasons. sure thing its a getting-used-to thing, but im not gonna lie, they demand so much more from you as a skier if you arent used to such skis. i rode troublemakers last year and the year before, and the ar5s are not by far as buttery and easy to handle as they were. i think me having a background as an alpine racingskier help me alot now that im getting used to them. i dont recomend unexperienced skiers w/o alot of confidence buying these skis. i had them mounted at +2.5 from recomended which is about -2 from true center, and they had excellent edgegrip on the hardpack, all snowgun snow. switchlandings felt pretty stable after using them for a few hours cause of the stiffness. i also rode the tanner hall pro model (176 a little short on me) for one run, and they were so much softer. they were mounted at true center and i almost ate it when landing switch cuz of the soft tips.
overall the ar5 is a solid ski, but dont buy it unless you are a skier who charge and if you are strong enough to handle such stiff skis. and yeah, they were 180s.. any questions/opinions?
