proform prices are all about equal on these, so i figure im gonna get one of em...heres where you come in. im 6'1", 180 lbs, used to race so i like a ski i can rip carves on. 185 karma, 186 big trouble, 182 foil. point me in the right direction.
oh, im from nh, so you know what thats like...icey parks and icey trails. i want something thatll hold well and wont wash out on me like, say, lines, for example. and dont give me the 'sharpen your edges' bit, cos i know where the line is between edges and the ski itself.
I picked up a pair of the Big Troubles, and they are actually fairly stiff. Its tough to tell the flex pattern when you dont have the skis next to each other, but they seem really similar to the Karma. The Foil has more of a carving sidecut, but at speed my buddies chatter kinda loud, I dunno about them. In my opinion, if you stay in the park alot more, go for the karmas, but if you do like 60/40 off piste vs. on, then I think you'll appreciate the extra 5mm the Big Troubles give you underfoot.
I actually haven't skied them yet cuz I couldn't find the bindings I wanted to put on them. But I should have them mounted within the next few days and when I get on them I'll definitely post a report. In terms of edge damage, I'm not gonna be a real good tester in that respect because I have a pair of old concepts and a new pair of troublemakers that Im gonna use for rails.
