what is the closest snowboard video (vib wise and riders) to afterbang, lame and afterlame...i just read the thread about 91 words for snow, is that the closest?
yeah, i think that 91 words for snow is even better. its a totally different feel. d. benedek said he wanted to make a video that someone who has never snowboarded could watch and understand. i think he did a pretty damn good job.
Yep Marcus Lutz from JD pictures... Maker of King Size, among other videos as well. I think many of the "original ideas" in robot food's videos are as a result Lutz's works.
i for sure havent seen anything close to afterlame, lame or afterbang. but i did see 91 words for snow and absolutly loved it. as far as im conserned skiing needs a lot to get to that level, i havent seen a ski movie anything like it. 91 was made by jace (k) price. lol. he also made december which actually is as good as afterlame
Most of my friends are snowboarders and thus I've seen (and loved) all the Robotfood/Blankpaper movies out there. Unfortunately I don't get around to seeing that many ski films. So, I was hoping to find some that mimic Robotfood's style. Are there any production companies in the ski world that do anything as cool as Robotfood? By which I mean they include sweet euro electronica, goofy swedish guys, and an all around light-hearted fun loving attitude (not to mention killer cinematography, editing, and riding).
Thanks.
PS. I find it extremely funny how out of the loop I am, as evidenced both by my question AND the fact that my post is going up exactly one year after the most recent one.
dude
respect to those guys with december and bikecar, but they dont even come close to afterlame. if you want a snowboarding documentary they are good, but not nearly as good as aftrelame, i dont care what youre looking for.
thats because the DC mtn lab was done by some of the robot food guys.
Its tough to compare anyone to robot food cause they really had their own unique style of doing things, i havent seen 91 words for snow or any of these euro movies so i cant vouch for those. I'd say Patchwork Patterns might be something comparable to Robot Food, not in the sense of the film making, but how unique the movie is made and edited.
So I was asking a couple posts back about Ski Films that are similar to Robotfood, and all I heard (before the topic went back to snowboarding flicks) was "Teddybear Crisis" and "Thirteen."
Anything else? And by "Thirteen" do you mean the now defunct "Team Thirteen" production company?
DC mtn lab was similar to robot food (i think the same guy made it). also THINK THANK productions (jesse burtner) reminds me of robot food, they have such sick videos. check out thunk, cue the birds, and patchwork patterns.
december did suck, bikecar was much more interesting.
