im jus startin out on some twins and to tell u the truth, im not htat good. does n e one have any tips for me in the park, downhill, backcountry, etc.?
Just get out there and start skiing. If you can, find somebody that's better than you to ski with, that way you'll get pushed to get better a lot faster. But above all, just go out and try to have fun while you're doing it.
^ couldnt agree more. Learn the basics...especially stopping...try and get a feel for the skis, put them on edge, etc.. once you feel comfortable going down any type of trail then you are ready to take the next step
having twins isnt really a priority right now for you. like that oter guy said(^^), you need to learn how to carve, not turn, so that you can really put the skis on their edges. then as you devolp those skills, start skiing backwards. i first started skiing backwards whit out twins and its made me a better skiier. its good to spend time in the park too, even with out twins. if start off hitting the jumps hard and fas and go huge, even if you fall, it will devolp good air sense and help you with you balance. and start off with just straight airs. also, learn how to carve/ turn switch. once you learn these fundamentals then star in doing grabs/ small spins in the park. but its important that you balance yourself between park and groomers. but most importantly, have fun!!
