Backcountry bindings in park

does neone have backcountry bindings on their skis and is riding them in the park or on bc booters? cuz i am going to by myself some backcountry skis and i think about putting those bindings on a julien vs jp pro or some madens.
so the questions is: can you ride those bindings in the park or on bc booters? i am not sure if they can hold up a massive sideways crash.

he is talking about a naxo freeride/tele or a dairmir freeride binding and yes I have seen certain pros wear them for skinning up the hill in the bc and then hitting booters. (i.e. pep) but not very common and they must be weaker since the heel just latches down, give it a try I need some skinning binders for the 4 passes as well, the cameron hike is lame.

if you are planning on a lot of BC then Naxo's might be a good choice, they would hold up OK to BC booters, but if you are just doing it for laps in the park or a few BC days a year, look into AT binders, pretty heavy but that way you can use your Alpine binders....

I would not reccomend touring bindings in the park. The odd spin through is ok but don't expect a touring binding to last very long with typical park abuse.
The best of both worlds is Salomons and Alpine Trekkers. Way heavy but at least you can bash around hard and not worry about breaking your $500 touring bindings.

i use the naxo's for my BC skiing and sometimes inbounds on pow-days. I would not trust them at all for big jumps with rotations....but I have hucked some smaller 20-30 footers and as long as the landings are steep, their retention is pretty good, I trust them fine for fast agressive skiing, but would never consider them for use in the park....

it is not recomended. if you are jumpin and shit use alpine binders. trekers kinda suck cause you have to have a place to put them, but if you are in the B/C you should have a pack that can hold them anyway. that is cause you have your avy gear as well and know how to use it, right? if you plan on just skining up and skiing lines and some small drops and such, go for a randone(sp) set up.

I have a rondinee set up with frichi freerides. i use them for touring in summer spring, and a little in winter and some cliffs. my other pair of skis is for park and inbounds backcountry,.
both are fat skis

I've used fritchi freeride for two seasons now, and they work great for both park and BC i think. The only thing that's happened was one time the thingy holding the binding down released in the middle if a huge air.
