alright, so here's the dilemna. I dig music with soul and feeling, along with a fatty rythmn and soulful solos. Can anyone point me in a good direction for newer stuff, but nothing like the "popular" music of today, like that "punk" shit or emo crap or heavy shit with anger.
i suggest this, make a station for a band that has 'fatty rhythms and soulful solos' that you know of and then it will suggest other bands that have the same style. i found some really good hip hop by making a tribe called quest station.
Here's a list, sorry if some are a little obscure... I kinda like different music myself. But these are right off my Ipod.
Beastie Boys: In Sound from the Way Out (especially)
Beatles: white Album
Bjork
The Black Keys
Buck 65: a little more hip hop than you might like, but i love to ride to it
Citizen Cope
Devo
Diplo: get Florida, quick!!!
The English Beat
The Faint: if you like dancy stuff, not Madonna style
The Flaming Lips
Grandaddy
Jack Johnson
Jem: give a reggae girl a chance
Johnny Cash
M.I.A.: when you decide you want some tribal hip hop
Marvyn Gaye
Mason Jennings
Neutral Milk Hotel
Paul Simon: because sometimes you wanna listen to your mom's music
R.L. Burnside
RjD2
Ryan Adams: nnot Bryan Adams
Stevie Wonder
