agreed, ski companies have teams, support comps and ski movies. progressing the sport, think all yoru money is going somewhere, so would you rather make Millionaires richer or support a ski company that will redirect thier money back into skiing

I'd never buy Siver, although I have a Siver Raven. Because I got it for cheap, and it looks nice.

If you get to know(and impress) a local ski shop owner they will usually give you a discount, my shop gave me 45% off a Helly Hansen Covergant jacket and 30% off pants making it much cheeper

I agree that ski company support is needed. Siver is not the only ski brand, helly hanson, spyders CR setup, Oakley, there are lots of other options as well. I WILL NEVER BUY BURTON. not just because they are a boarding company and not a ski company, but because ALL the poseurs that think they are core boarders wear burton

Siver - Overpriced ski fashion (without function)
Orage - Expensive (but really good)
DNA - Expensive (but really good)
Burton - Good Quality and Reasonably Priced
Quiksilver - Good Quality and Reasonably priced. (Candid wears it, good enough for me)
I guess I'm not "core" enough to spend $500 on a pair of pants and jacket. Sorry, with the money I save I can buy books for the spring semester. I wish I could afford to support stuff like DNA and orage but I just don't have the cash.
