I liked that picture of her in black and white in some magazine, it was like a poster, a while back, better than these. But yeah. It was like an add for volkl and smith or something. I dunno. ANyone have it? haha. But yeah, I dont really have any opinion on this.

I've always looked at Sarah with so much respect for being the best female skier out there while upholding a great image. This really seems below her. I think she's super-hot though. I guess everyone has to realize you have to pay bills. I imagine I'd do the same thing if I were in her shoes.

no offense to anyone, but who gives a shit how any other girl in the industry feels. she's not doing this in a ski magazine like some of them did. this was a great opportunity for her. any other sport and it'd be appreciated by peers. everyone wants freeskiing to grow and get the recognition that snowboarding gets, but everyone bitches about leaving the "core" stage. the core stage isn't going to get more money into the industry. stuff like this, mcdonalds ads, amstel ads, burton, libtech, etc, etc will. good for sarah.

I was really pissed when I read in Freeskier that she was gonna pose for them...she is representing all of us female freeskiers everywhere and just at a time when we're trying to get recognition as equals and legitimate ATHLETES she has to go and do this.
Personally, I feel betrayed.

And now that I see the pictures themselves...I'm pretty sad-they look REALLY trashy.
Just flat out slutty and cheap and definitely WAY below her-or any woman for that matter....
Bottom line: I will always look up to Sarah Burke for what she has done for this sport of skiing that we all love.
But I have lost alot of respect for her.
What was she thinking? Pose in a men's mag that lays around in guys bathrooms as helping our cause? as helping skiing? As helping WOMEN?
I think not.
I hope skiing's next "Role model" does us better justice.

that is possibly the dumbest comment i've ever read on this site. she is in no way representing you. don't think of yourself so highly.

they are far from trashy & you can keep looking up to her for what she has done because she has been doing it long before you ever knew what twin tips, jumps, or park rails even were.

she's a great skier, a great woman, an amazing role model. have some respect. if you were in her place you probably would have done this long ago.

don't ever again say that sarah burke has sold out. you don't even understand what sold out truely means. the term sold out is so over-used in skiing it is not even funny.

there is so much more i want to say to you that is far from necessary. your opinion of sarah along with these photos is the farthest from the truth. don't judge someone until you have the slightest idea of what they really are.

And why the hell should she have to subscribe to your idea of any of these three? Just because she's a beautiful female skier doesn't mean she automatically has some social role to fulfill, nor is it your place to come down on her if she chooses not to subscribe to the same ideas about what a "skiing icon" (a label the industry has put on her, not one she adopted for herself, mind you) should "be" to you and the group of people, namely, female freeskiers (and women in general, apparently), you have so arrogantly chosen to represent.

My biggest issue with this is that the interview kind of sucked, and the words "inevitable war with snowboarding" were used. THAT is what's sickening here.

nobody held her at gunpoint to do the mag. photo spread, so whats the big deal?

Now a whole bunch of guys see that twintip skiing exists, some will go buy a pair, and freeskiing will have more money.

Face it..were not an underground sport, so we are going to be seen in alot of magazines that otherwise wouldnt even touch our sport 3 years ago.

Well uh, I think she looks hot.

Regardless of what she's "trying to sell", the girl looks smokin' hot. And in my eyes, if that means more people are going to start recognizing skier chicks are friggin' gorgeous, as well as can shred, all the more money and attention for chick events. Hell, you think guys would ever watch figure skating if they didn't know the women were foxes? Fuck no they wouldn't.

At least she was chosen because she's an innovator of the sport, not just because she has a nice rack and can arch her back.

another thing to think about. You think a male freeskier would turn down a spread in a mag like GQ or Esquire? doubtful.

Good for Sarah. She was comfortable with it. We have to stop looking at people as skiers. Everyone is so much more then a skier, their all people that make their own choices.

he didn't have a spread but jeremy jones actually had a small article/interview and picture in one of the recent GQs. it was on proper cold weather gear. FHM, maxim, stuff... all those magazines highlight snowboard gear at least once a year. the way i see it, a hot chick who is comfortable enough to pose can only help get skiing the same press. more press means more pregression, better gear, and more opportunity for everyone.

hey why don't you start pulling your own weight in our sport, it isn't sarah burke's job to shepherd all female skiers to equality... you have to prove yourself for that shit, so until you are throwing down as hard as she is, quit your bitching. not to mention... this is skiing, not politics. do these photos and attached article make sarah any sort of better or worse skier? no.... and when sarah podiums at the big comps i can promise you all it won't be because she looks good in lingerie.

Why would she be thinking about helping women? Sarah isn't a feminist who is opposed to male masturbation, she's an amazing skier who coincidentally is one of the most attractive and approachable people you'll ever meet. I hope skiing's next "role model" has a body and personality like Burke's; she's not the Anna Kournikova of skiing, because she's one of the best female athletes in our sport. The fact that she has been endowed with a few assets beyond her athletic ability just makes her that much better. So while you unibrowed dykes bitch about her selling out, I think I speak for every heterosexual male on this site in saying that she has a great pair of...um..... Karmas. Yeah, that's it. And she know how to use them.
