This past weekend Vail got slammed with snow. It started last week and I think it is still going!
Anyway, in light of all the snow we met up at the Liberty HQ office in Edwards, CO. Liberty pro rider David Bird and I arrived to find the car covered in snow, but around the corner a perfect inrun/onramp thanks to the snowplow pile pushed against a hill.
Liberty pro rider David Lesh also made his way up to the session along with a buddy of his. Liberty guru's Dan and Andy were also on hand while our photographers moved around lights and flashes with every new angle to find that super sick shot!
We found that the flat down style setup was best, but we rarely ever slid the last down part. It was more fun to just gap over the rest! Lesh was so anxious to hit the rail, that he guinea pigged the setup before we even got the lights on it. Soon after we got the lights working we were all slaying clean slides, switch landings and clean 270's off the end. The Daves (Bird and Lesh) began attempting 450's off the end but couldn't bring them around all the way.
Lesh hit the rail more times then anybody. Although all of us were tired from skiing all day (15" in the Vail area!) Lesh had some funky energy burst and started hiking like crazy. We all got in a lot of work during the 2.5 hour session and a buttload of photos to go through; all in all it was a fun night!
We'll have some photos up soon!
