Q1: In R3.0 I've made a pattern on the redrum and I've added 2 subtractors and a NN-XT. They all are playing different sounds (of course). Anyways, I have all the patterns in a 4 measure area, except for the drums which keeps repeating. So how do I repeat the pattern so for a set amount of measures/time? What I did, was just copy and paste... Is this the fastest/most efficient way to do things?
Q2: Also, if I've made 2 patterns with the drum machine, then how do I make it so that it switches from let's say... pattern A1 to A2, for every measure that passes?
ex: (A1) (A2) (A1) (A2) etc. etc.
Also, will the drums play when I publish the song, or do I have to transfer it to the track sequencer? Thanks again.
i would recommend NOT using the redrum computer if you have a midid keyboard. it's much easier to trigger them in on your keyboard. i'll usually start off by recording high-hats and snares, and then come back and record the bass drum and keep adding more and more. wuts nice is that u don't have to record everything at once. if u do want to use the redrum computer and u have 2 separate petterns, here's wut to do. if u want to edit pattern 1&2 by having 1 start then 2 come in, right click pattern 1 on the redrum computer and click edit automation. then use the pencil tool and click on the lane(the yellowish lane called pattern lane)by doing that A1 should go across the entire lane. then on the pattern lane, click the A1 at the top left and choose A2. then on the lane click where u want pattern 2 to start. i find this to be kinda a pain in the ass, but just play around with it. also make sure that you double click stop before testing it so that a green box outlines the pattern selection box. did this answer your question? kinda forgot wut it was haha
yes they will..basicaly the way it sounds when u listen to it is the way it publishes..like i'm pretty sure if u have something muted it will be muted when published
i would recommend just not using the automation lane at all. get your desired drum pattern, then right click and "copy pattern to track" between the L and R markers. if you just have two drum loops, just do that twice, and then copy and paste. lots easier than alternating between automation A1 and A2, plus you can go edit in or edit out individual drums just by doubleclicking on the block of drums that you copied to the sequencer.
step 3-5 - right click and create redrum, subtractor, NN-XT.
now, all your cables should automatically connect. the redrum, synth, and sampler should be on channels 1,2, and 3 on the mixer.
now from here you should be able to make sounds come out of all three. load drums from the reason sound bank into the redrum, and make some drum patterns.
now i'm assuming you don't have a midi keyboard. so click on the track in the sequencer that the synth is on. then click the little piano key button above the sequencer. this should zoom you into the synth track. click the pencil tool and just draw in some random shit. this should make sounds come from the synth.
same deal with the sampler. open a patch from the sound bank, then draw some stuff in.
once you've got all three of these things going hit me back and i'll give you lesson two.
