Mad river- new terrain park

i was just on skimadriver.com and they said they are opening friday at 4pm with 100% of trails open...they also said that they will be unvailing their new terrain park and JUMP RUN...wutever that means....

i called them and they said the new jump run is a series of 3 jumps ...a 20 ft gap and two 30 ft. tables...they also will add sum rails where they place those jumps...in addition to that they still have their park from last year

yeah right. last year i think i got the Aids virus just from being in the general vicinity of their park. HOPEFULLY they have legit jumps. Its easy to say they have three in a row, but they need decent takeoffs, and landings steeper than 10 degrees.

The guy that runs that place called Chip Perfect last season to ask how to build a jump... which in and of itself is pretty funny, but anyway, i sent them a sudo-diagram on what we kinda try to do for our jumps, so i'm hoping that helps out their park this season.

the guy i talked to said they got new "experet advice" that will hopefully make their park much better this year

^ Im sure thats the expert advice they are talking about...not that he didnt give them expert advice or good diagrams, but it doesnt gurantee anything about a quality park. We will just have to wait and see.

yeah a drawing pretty much doesn't mean a damn thing if the guy driving the cat can't make it happen so hopefully they aren't dinks and they can figure it all out.

i was kinda dispointed today...some boarder in PNS park was more stoked on mad rivers stair set than the one PNS made over the summer

unless they've been making a lot of snow...i doubt that. that's a big table to have on opening day.

theyve been makin snow 24/7 today it was 6 degrees until like 1 o'clock its real cold and theyve been makin tons of snow... the reason y their doin all of this new stuff w/ the park no is becasue they got a new marketing manager and hes making the park sweet this year.. i talked to him on the phone today and he told me that they had the 45ft.

Ok but the marketing director isnt building the jumps is he. And they absolutely have sucked forever there even for MWX they were a total joke. So until i see a quality jump or a park where 90% of the rails arent actually 12 inch boxes then i will call Mad River a landfill! Total garbage

Smokinskier is right. The Margeting Manager is the guy, as you said, that answers the phone. The cat drivers can tell him 45 foot table, then its his job to hype it. And they can claim 45 foot table, but it has to be built right. you can make a 45 foot table that is like 3 feet off the ground, but its gonna suck. hopefully its legit though. it'll maybe make the MWX more legit.

^ Yea dont get me wrong I would love to see MAd River actually produce a decent set up there is nuthin wrong with having another quality park in ohio. It just hasnt materialized thus far there.

But hey hopefully some of you are right and they really did work hard this year to get a good thing goin!!

MRM has some pix of the "Jump Run" on their site. Can't really tell anything about how well they are being built but they are putting it in an area that will be so much better than where their "jumps" were in the past.

yeah sence snowtrails park wont be up yet u guys mise well go to mad river so u kno 4 ur selves if its good... hopefully it will be better this year.. i gusse there terrian park is suposed to be soo diff. cuz they shut down there park webcam on their site cuz they want it to be a "suprize" so im excited to see wuts up

There is no possible way Mad River can have a better park than snowtrails. SNowtrails park is like 40ft deep of snow and unless mad river goes around the streets and hack saws all kinds of urban rails out, sorry.... I'd like to know who this guy in charge is throwin out these claims, cause he better be able to back them up! haha

thats a house under snow in the 2nd pic...first pic looks like big piles of snow from the snow guns that are waiting to be pushed....must have been a rumor.

Yea everyone was terrible. The rails ar ea joke and the jumps are very badly made. Definitely going to snow trails for the rest of the year.

Damn... yeah, it was a little better, but no dice. The marketing guy wants to make it better, but, like we said, he can't do it himself.

Hey Tad, if they call you guys again, see if they will pay to get somebody up to MRM and physically show them, or invite them down to Perfect to see how you guys do it. There is a case of Yuengling Lager it it for you if you can pull it off.

if theres any way that i can help out madriver i would....i dont kno how i could do it but maybe just start talkin to the ppl that work there about the park and ask if i could help design it or something....just anything to make it a kick ass park

Comparing snowtrails and mad river are like comparing a benz to a kia. By the way, there are now jumps open at snowtrails. Skip the mad river mayhem and come to snowtrails.

hey i just found out that on last friday night the cat that makes the jumps broke down at madriver.. them "promising" a jump run all week still were determined to open it... they opened and we saw how bad it was.. they fixed the cat sunday night and now the jumps ( they have 2 now) are alot better
maybe give em one more chance

i was there opening day. it sucks. but at least they were putting some effort into wanting to change things, and for opening day, it wasnt that bad. but yes, snowtrails and PNS are really the ony way to go for now.

fair enough but when they moved it to the far right side it was supposed to be improved..and last year supposed to be even better then for mwx goin to be our best jump(shotty as hell) and this year...OUR NEW AND IMPROVED JUMP LINE!!


How many tries/chances should we give them? Just curious to how long it will take them to get it right

dude u have no idea what u are talking about... their 1st of all the mwx jump was not open to public last year and it was only there during the jan. comp.. and this is the 1st year they have ever put jumps on the main run and they never said anything comparing it to the mwx cuz the marketing director wasnt even here last year to see the mwx jump so he doesnt even kno wut it was like so u should probley stop talkin about shit u dont kno
