I WANT TO SKI!!! atleast 2 more weeks, it doesnt look to be too bad, when do they open. I dont know how to make a link but here is the address, copy and paste it.
apparentyl they have a full time park tech and are supposably setting up some decent stuff, rumor has it that they cut off the lodge chimney and setting it up in the park as a bonk/wallride
I was up there last sat...a friend of mine was up there yesterday and said a lot of runs were closed for snowmaking...not sure about the park.
Last sat the jumps were in slightly worse condition than the week before. However, they have installed a new rail...tiny flat then down. Looks sick but I havent hit it yet. Going up on the 26
I was there on wednesday, they had the one jump set up. its still early in the season tho...read MacMahoooon's post about EV's park, it should be getting better soon.
yeah...it was wicked in the early season...but the park is definitely slipping...
they took out the box so you can get more speed for the table...but everyone's still hitting it dead slow, landing flat...and it's reeeeeally icy.
if you ask me they should shave the table back and set the box up.
They also completely removed the 10 foot table at the top outside the park...that was a wicked jump. I dont know why they removed it...high traffic. The trap rail sucks.
the new rail is awesome though.
Being a small hill...Edelweiss really needs some smaller tables and more boxes...their current set up doesnt allow for much progression.
ya, not bad, the trap rail is garbage, as of wed it was a ride on. The landing on the jump was glare ice. and the flat rail was nice. And on wed there were alot of skiers there, it was nice to see
Mother nature hasnt played nice lately but the park will be moved over to yoddler with more features and variety as soon as they can get some snow over there. The box was taken out cause it needed to be repaired and the tech was off. It will be back soon.
Yea I was up there today (Tuesday) and the jump was pretty tight until later in the afternoon. They moved the box down to where the flatbar was and they are setting up the big kink and the flatbar somewhere down yoddler. Should be good for this weekend.
all landings were being regroomed last nigth as I left the hill.
The whole park should be moving to yoddler very soon. The plan was for this weekend but this rain and warm weather might delay it a bit. The remaining rails will be out and hopefully some new features
WOW!! All I a going to say is park in ottawa has gone to a whole new level!!! Rails and boxes installed with love, giant table going in tomorrow, the hip is nearly complete. And the crowning jewel............A 35ft stepdown so high you cant see the groomer when its parked on the deck!
Come out and see for yourself this weekend. Promise you wont be disapointed!
WOW, what a nice park, better than fotune in my opinion. Jumps: a 7-8 ft, a 15 ft, a 20 ft Hip, and a 35 ft. Rails: Flat bar, C-rail, Rainbow rail(well set-up), and 2 others that weren't in yet. Box: REALLY sweet new box (about 20-25ft with a drop in it) Park runs from the very top to the very bottom of the mountain with pretty good flow. Best I've seen from EV in years.
when i went last week on friday, they had a bunch of jumps, a updown rail which was weird as fuck.
the flat rail which i always love.
a curved rail which was really fun.
their really terrible rainbow.
they were working on setting up like a 40 foot box, and a jump. but i never actually got to hit it cuz it was closed all day. and there flatdown rail disapeered.
yeah they managed to shape it with the cat and not have to bring up the dragon. We got a new groomer this year that seems to have alot more flex then the standard ones. Of course final touches were done by hand
PArks getting there slowly but surely, were gonna move those boxes back up to Yodler somewhere bellow the flat bar, still not sure where the flat-down is going and there will be a log jib/spinish creation and chimney wall ride in between the hip and the rail parks current local
I went up last night and everything was nice. The final jump had a super nice kick and it was real nice and floaty, only problem the landing for it was super flat. My buddies were telling my i was clearing it perfectly and i would almost get the knees in the chest. The gap is more like 50 feet. All they have to do is make the landing steeper and it would be a REALLY fun jump.
those boxes beside the jump in the last pic are 21ft and 22 ft so the gap then was roughly 45ft, we cut the jump and pushed more snow up the landing to make it steep, i would say it is now 45-50ft but the float is insane and big, really fun lots of time to tweak grabs and spin steazy
