Volkl karma and scratch bc

so i decided im finally going to stop fucking around and get myself some new boards. ive been riding the black and white mad trix for awhile and they are a great ski, just really heavy and shit for park. They were good for me because i ski mostly powder and steeps, but now i want a more versatile, soft, light ski for all mountain but more focused on park. I want something that i can continue to use to stick landings in the pow but is more able in the park and pipe so i can improve. The two i was looking at were the scratch bc and volkl karma, and when i read the freeskier reviews of them it just made me more interested in them. any suggestions would be great

I just got the volkl gotamas which are pretty big for park but if they are simular to the karmas then get the Karmas. They are really stiff though.

im 6' 1 and i have 177 karmas, i bought em last year. They are a litttle more flexible than gotamas because gotamas are pow skis. they work pretty good for the park as well as backcountry.

I have both Karmas and Scratch BCs - I like my Karmas waaaaay more than my BCs. They're still stiff, but are a hell of a lot lighter than the BCs. Definitely go for the Karmas!

They do. Once you get used to the stiffness, the have tons of live. They return more energy than most other skis.

I think you should get the dynastar Big troubles. They are almos exactly the same as TM's except they have a wder waist. I think they come in 176&186 with a 92 waist I think.

They're stiff compared to the TMs, which isn't saying much. They're average for a ski that size.

get the karmas, best all mountain performance next to the foil. that includes deep stuff and the pipe, though the foil would be better than the karma in the pipe. but between the Scratch Bc and the karma, volkl will make you alot happier.

no one in this thread has mentioned a ski that could even remotely be considered stiff. the karma is an all mountain ski but it is not stiff.

hey, you know what would be rad? if someone answered my question... also, if you could compare them to the misdeameanours for example, that'd be super as well...

i had the exact choices for skis last year and got the scratch bcs. i would say go with the karmas unless your going to be skiing a lot of pow

i hear from some other guys that the karmas are really stiff, like too stiff for park. I think ill be looking for something more park oriented then. anyone have any recommendations. I want a ski aimed at about 60% park 40% mountain. of the 40% mountain, about half is on piste and half is off.

msp's. a little fat for the pow and super light for the park. definitely a softer flex than what you're used to, but definitely not noodly either. softer than both of the skis in the thread title.

how do they compare to the stls?

stiffer than the stl's for sure, less sidecut than the stl's so they're more stable. both skis are way light too. my setup (w/s912ti's) is lighter than any other setup i've ever held in my hands.
i ride msp's but have been on a friend's stl's for the last three weeks due to a broken binding.
