Both are good and can prove there records by the pure volume of skis each of them have sold over the years. I personally have skied salomons since I was 12 and have thought they have been sick ever since.

Salomon has a sick team...but it is agreeable that they make shitty skis...but I haven't ridden them enough to have a true opinion...so I'm neutral.

K2. I gave Salomon a chance last season and delaminate a pair of Pocket Rockets 20 days into the season. And the worst part about it is that they wouldn't warranty them. I hate Salomon now and won't ever buy from them again.

I don't understand why everyone is up Salomons ass. Bindings aren't very good, but the skis rock. YES k2 makes a more durable ski, but the 1080 (not to mention their whole new line of skis this year) is such an awesome ski. I had a chance to demo 1080's 3 times and loved the ski every second. It might be one of the best skis for lighter riders and/or guys who aren't doing 50+ ft. hits all the time.

Go ahead jump on the foam core, but when it comes down to it, you'll find that 1080's have one of the highest sales rates. And thats for a good reason. Ride it before you bash it.

guys the foam core rocks. i don't know what the deal is with all you kids hating on it. wood core is great, but foam core is so much lighter. people just hate on a company for some reason, and then they won't ever even consider that company for the rest of your life. even if they make the best product money can buy. i don't get it.

dude, they are both great companies, k2 is the best hands down, but everyone who says salomon skis and bindings are terrible have never ridin them and are just going by what all the other fags on here say. i have ridin the foils and thrusters with 912s on them and i loved them, but i went with the k2 public enemy, cuz of some deal i have with k2 :}!

i had 03 04 salomon 1080s with s810ti bindings and both got fucked on me...the bindings exploded and the actual titanium plate snapped in half and my skis delamned so im hardpressed to ever go back to riding salomons again..however i have to say the 1080s were a sick ski and served me reall good

foam core is lame because i weight more than 50 pounds. Salomon sucks, i say go for k2 if you are gonna get an old company but support armada, 4frnt and line first

this year salomon havnt forgotten about the pure park ski, they made all there skis this year to make an all around ski, there loosin there park points and goin for all mountain, i think k2 has a huge advantage on them now,k2 strickly has skis for what u want and most are nice park skis.

Company wise idk about k2 any more, check out every oneof their new skis.... they are all made in china, Salomons are all still made in france, rossi in spain/france, volkls in germany.. so why does k2 have to make their skis in china? thats kinda wack if you ask me.
Salomons team is sick... and so are the skis that their team skis on... oh yeah and wood next year?
im supprised i havent seem more on here about this but suppositively sollys going wood?
Any one kno anything else?

what the fuucckk are you talking about. Salomon has a much better team than K2. the only decent person from k2 that illl give you is fujas. salomon has CR, Mike Douuglas, Sammy Carlson. Mark adma and Simon Dumont to name a few. and their skis are actually pretty good. in my opinoin i obviously so with salomon.

why because those companies are more "core"? Line is he only company out of those I'd consider buying. Armada and 4frnt are so damn expensive for a ski that is equal or sub par to others. Yes those companies, are newschool specific, but why would i limit myself? I can buy rossi or K2 much cheaper than I can 4frnt. Do I feel bad buying from a company that is less "core"? No. Am I a better freeskier because I rock STL's instead of Fugis? Hell No.

Buy what you like, and whats good for you. At the end of the day, you can still do an underflip whether it's on T-hall pros, or scratch FS's.

Salomon probably has the best competition team out there. Not that other teams aren't awesome, but salomon is so consistant. Not to mention CR is fucking sweet. So glad he won icer.
