well, date your shit and put a C with a circle around it when you show it to them. its illegal for them to copy your shit, you could probably sue them pretty easly.

just make sure that you have a contract so that they have to give you royalties. the companies wont screw you because they have a reputation to keep up

ok son heres the way to do it the paupers way: copy your proposal written down in detail (and i mean DETAIL) and then put that shit in an envelope and send it to yourself...you need to ensure its a heavy duty envelope and that you get some kind of security seal on the opening - you can get this done at your post office or w/e you yanks have. Then send it to your home address - thus ensuring a copy which is officialy dated (the post stamp) and so proves that you had this idea before them so you can sue them to shit

You don't have to register for copyright, it exists as soon as you create the work. You don't have to put the C on the work for copyright to exist either but most people do it to alert people that might be thinking of copying/stealing it. The hard part is proving that they stole/used your idea. So you jsut need to document it and copy it well before sending it off.

I'm sure a brief talk with a lawyer friend( of family, father of a friend etc.) can't be bad either.
