Someone told me that you need to get your skis waxed and sharpened right after you get them mounted before you ever use them. I was wondering if this was true. Could you give me a little insite? Thanx

most brands are ready to go from the plastic wrap...K2 skis need nothing done for normal snow conditions. When I send out demo skis that are brand new, all I do is mount em and they are ready to go. Skis will naturally detune themselves as you ski, and unless the snow is very cold or very wet the factory wax will last just fine for a few days.

The best thing for the wax is too scrape the factory wax off and give them a whole wax job. For sharpening if you ride the rails then you don't need sharpen skis, but if you ride the pipe and jumps you could sharpen them a little.

you should take them to a shop when you get them, and have them wax the skis and detune the tips and tails a bit, to keep from catching your edges...i never do it, but i heard you should
