all salomon boots run wider then most other boots. i couldnt get my foot into lang boots they are so narrow.but you can always get a boot punched out to fit your foot better.
1080's are pretty wide. I was told they're supposed to fit like a skate shoe, but who knows if thats right.
Getting your boots punched out is an experience... its also nice to have a custom fitting boot though. What they do is basically stretch your boot out.
I have nordica dobermann plug boots (boots made to be punched/customized etc.) And i had them ground out and had footbeds and all put in them but watch out 'cause custom work can get to be expensive. (I spent $1200 on my boots) Actually, thats a lie, but if i paid full price for them i would have racked up that tab.
The bottom line here is you dont want custom work done to your boots unless you're a racer or you have an incredibly oddly shaped foot.
Hopefully i've helped you in some way.
