I'm sort of new to skiing, I've been skiing about 10 times and I recently tried to do a rail for the first time, and everytime I tried I'd fall. Sometimes I'd fall the opposite way of the way I was going, does that mean I need to lean forward more?
umm I'd work on just getting comfortable on skis before rails. But maybe you're a really fast learner so ummm I guess keep trying and ge the feel for it
chyea, if ur going like lets say right foot in the front, and ur going down the hill and u fall like on ur left side, then chyea u need to lean forward more, but if ur falling towards the rail then u need to lean back a lil more
I tried with my left foot first and my right foot first and I can't tell which way I feel more comfortable, would I stand the same way I do when I do a
50-50 on my skateboard? I'm regular on a skateboard.
if you skate. i would recommend learning rails the other way you ride a skate. that way it makes learning unnatural rails easier down the roda when you're ready to try them. right now it wont make much of a difference
believe it or not, but it really helps to study pictures of people doing rails. notice where their weight is and what they look like. try to imitate that. buy a freeskier and look at the pictures or taneer and everyone doing rails. try to imitate what they do. it helps. stay low and keep your feet wide.
