well you are trapped in a world of ski retail it seems

they wont allow a large amount of progression. its more money spent over time than getting a more solid, long lasting bindings such as a pivot/power/axial.
the release is not park friendly. the likelyhood of pre-release and blow outs is more common because they have practically zero elastic travel in the heel, and contact with the boot is limited. with the pivots you have many contact points, and large amounts of verticle and horziontal elastic travel, great for keeping the ski on when it shouldnt pop off. the px bindings (new powers/axial2) have the same amount of elastic motion but also have the addition of forward pressure, which keeps a tight hold on the boot, even with large amounts of flex (which causes many bindings to pop off in quick flex situations).

bindings are the only contact a skier has with the ski. they are saftey-wise the most important piece of equiptment. if you are park skiing, dont be super cheap with bindigns...

yea exactly. somebody who plans to ski like 10 days a year, bindings are not nearly as important, especially recreational gomer style
