i brought my 3 pairs of skis to get mounted at my shop and the guy flipped out cuz i didn't buy them there. He's charging me 60$ to mount them and it woulda been free if i would just bought 1 thing there. That's gay cuz everything is so cheap over the net compared to that place and he'll prob. do my skis last since i didn't buy them there which means i'll get them back after my hill opens prob. that's gay.
haha, some guy brought two pairs of skis to my shop which he hadnt bought there. they charged him like 800NOK for mounting which is equal to $125. i loved it cuz i hate that guy. haha.
i bought Tanners at this shop and bindings at another shop, and then had them mounted at the place i got the skis, they told me mounting was free, then i get their and they say it will cost 20bucks, i thought ok not bad, but then i get a call saying i need wide breaks, so that was another 40bucks, i was pissed after that, then my friend also got tanners so i gave hime my wide breaks, so he could have them mounted up, then we came back to the dorms and he put his narrow breaks on, it pissed me off
yeah man i had the same thing done. i brought my skis to the shop, and they charged me 20 something dollars for it. it was pretty lame, but they did it while i waited because i usually buy all my shit there. so it wasn't that bad. but yeah the charging was lame.
man my shop also charges like 25 or something to mount, but its amazing cause where you pay is different than where you pick up your skis. I usually just walk out the front door and say cheers to the retarded cashier. ahaha
I don't undertand. Why should a shop mount your skis for free? They're in business too, and buying on the internet doesn't support them. You want a good deal, you'll get it on the web, but pay for it at the shop. Your choice.
yeah a shop near me tried to charge me $75 for a remount. I said I would pay after it was done. Once they were done, I payed $30 and left. There's no way Im paying 75 for that rip off shit.
Of course shops should be charging for mounts if you didn't buy the gear there.
But, giving attitude and getting mad at people for buying their skis online instead of in the shop, I hate that bullshit. I just shake my head and laugh when reps/shops talk about how it's unfair for online retailers to undercut them. Why should I pay 100% mark-up and pay $800 for a pair of skis when I can get them online for $400? I know what I want, I don't need salesmen at the shop telling me crap.
Shops should focus on service (e.g. NOT getting mad at people for buying online) such as bootfitting, soft goods and selling to customers who don't know what they need. Getting mad at people who buy high-end stuff online since they don't need to hear the BS sales pitch is just stupid and if it happens to me I will never enter the store again even if it means buying softgoods online instead.
I've learned overal that buying from shops can be just as cheap as buying online. Because shops will mount your shit for free and they might give you free tunings or wax as well as a discount for buying skis and bindings.
Of course they are going to charge to mount the skis. It takes time and work to do it and you dicked them over by not buying the stuff at theri shop. I'd be pissed too. We use to get that all the time at the shop I worked at. It's kind of rude.
yes and many shops now are matching the price of online stores....and you actually get face to face servive rather than just a credit card form....and your boot actually gets fit to your foot so you have the boot for you
what a bitch you are to whine about paying to have your skis mounted.
and i agree with the shops needing better customer service. those retards all think they are cars salesmen or something.
i work at a shop and we do charge more for mounting if you didnt not buy the skis, boots, or, bindings from us. but we will not bump you to last. or do worse of a job.
and you have to realize that when buying stuff online you cut out the retailer, and what they have to pay to keep there store running Ex: employees, rent, taxese etc...
and also most states do have sales tax if you buy shit online i think only like 5 or 6 make you pay taxes on things you buy online
I brought my invaders to get mounted this past weekend at the tune-up shop at Mt. Snow. He only charged me $25 to mount them and wax them. What makes it better is that I gave him my Rossi bindings without the lifters so he had to grind down the screws to the right length.

Can I please pay $900 for Legend Pros at some shop instead of $600 online? Why?
