How the hell am i supposed to support companies like orage and siver when thier shit costs so damn much. I was trying on pants the other day and the orage ones were pretty sweet, and they were 260 $!!!! for fucking pants? The siver ones werent much better 240$ for ski pants. I ended up having to buy snowboard pants form 686 cuz they cost half as much. Why does gear from these companies cost so damn much

They want to make large profit margens. While those companies dont sell a lot of clothes to the freeski sector they have to raise the price in order to collect good profit. Companies core or not all mark their clothes a lot. Plus maybe the store is filled with dicks who mark up the price way more thatn they should to pray on those who have the money and are just buying the name to look "cool"

shops make profit maargins, clothing companies don't. for the most part, clothing companies set a particular retail price. most retailers respect the price and put the clothes of the rack for said price. High end retailers, boutiques and retailers at resorts can/ and often have to set the sell price higher.
chances are you could have found a pant from Siver or Orage at your chosen spending price. They might not have had it at the store, but you could have found a pair somewhere. the other reason (and slightly more obvious) why you would've spent more for a Siver pant vs. 686 is because the Siver pant is made better/ worth more.

siver stuff for that much? i've never seen any of their pants that expensive. its nice looking stuff, but its not that technical or waterproof, so its usually relatively inexpensive compared to orage or dna stuff. if you look at the quality of the orage pants compared to the 686 stuff you bought, the difference should be obvious.

stores are stupid they jack up prices way over what they pay, at least if your at a resort. Try to find outlets or places that sell directly from the company, not a third party store.
