Steele wins aspen rail jam

steele took first last night in the aspen "thanksjibbing" rail jam...awesome stuff. live band playing while skiers and snowboarders jammed 30 minutes each. olenik was second and dolziel was third.

the setup was a flat-up-flat with one jump going straight on, and two jumps on either side placed right after the first flat (so you would disaster on the second flat)

steele threw
-270 on from the side
-switch 270 on, 270 off from the side
-sketchy 450 on from the side
-front flip from the side
-??? i think he might have done
sw.on-sw.up-270 off but im not sure

peter did
-switch 270 on, 270 off from the side
-450 on, 270 off from the side (smooth)
-switch 450 on from the side (super sketcy)

tom did
-630 on from the side (spun like a mother)
-switch 450 on from the side
-something more technical going straight on but i forgot what it was

if that comp was best trick and not overall Matt Walker would have killed. Flawless 360 switch up to 270 out, killed it. But it was dope either way

yea i think walker had an incredibly sick and tech trick. that rail was kinda hard to switch up on and somehow he got 360 backside

vid of my trick here, i dont have steele or pete or dozels stuff tho... they were crazy, dozel's 630 was so sick, and steele just killed it all night. and pete o killed it despite having a broken rib from a fight, that brawler...

haha, thats exactly where i was standing...

everyone thought that either tom or pete won.... they were throwin it down more then steele.....

but then I wasnt suprised when i read an article about the contest before it happened in the paper..... half the article was about steele....hummmmm

and props to meg and jess..... that box wasn't easy, u had to get sooo much speed to ride it all the way through....
