liberty is an overall decent gnar company.

It shouldn't matter. Seriously how can I take them seriously? How can anyone after what happened last year? You would think that they would want to show people that they got their shit together. I believe that they did fix their skis. However, to be at this stage of the season and to not have a lousy website to show your product is weak. I'm sure I'll hear, "oh, we had problems with our web desigener" or some BS like that. Well at least get something up there even if it does suck ,just to show possible consumers that you are for real this year. Why the hell should I or anyone else drop $550 on skis I can't even see?

As far as quality, while I haven't seen Liberty's in person yet, nearly every ski company has issues with delaminating in their first couple years. In the 70s in nearly send K2 out of business.

The fact there is epoxy on the edges means that they weren't base ground and might not have had the bases structured. What does unstructured bases mean? It Means your ski is going to stick to snow and be extremely slow.

All in all though, I find it sort of funny how considering what we do to our skis, we are pissed when they break.

yea i will say what i know. i ride for liberty. I am skiing on Stealths right now. I picked them up from the same batch that goes to the stores, so that isnt true about pro riders getting diff skis than you 2) the Stealth is meant to be all mountain, and handle the big stuff in the park like big jumps as well as all mountain skiing, it isnt ment to do butters and tail presses which brings me to my next point... LIBERTY HAS A FLEXIER SKI. IT IS CALLED THE SB, IT COMES IN A 170 and 180. It is actually quite flexy, in my opinion about the same flex as a fujitave, maybe a lil stiffer... GO buy that if you want a flexier liberty...

my opinion on liberty skis is purly based on me holding them and flexing them in the shop. to me they seemed extreamly stiff and ridged compared to the other skis in the shop fujis, kharma, last season 1260s, even the 1080's seemed softer to flex. although i havent ridden on a pair so i dont know about how they feel on the snow. in other words, i would tend to agree with you on your first point.

on your other point about independent companines i have a different view. i currently ride on a pair of last season 4FRNT STL's and i aboslutly love them. granted i probably dont ride as hard as most other skiers (i almost never do rails and rarely do boxes as i am just learning them) but before this pair i owned some Salomon 1080's, with the S912 binding. first off, my 1080s delamed twice (remember, im just learning rails which means i NEVER hit any rails/boxes with my 1080s), and the S912s would repeatedly pre-release, not to mention the weight of the binding.

my 4frnts, after about a month of boxes (and like 3-4 total rails) last season and 3 times this season i have seen absolutly no wear-n-tear. granted i havent been riding them on the boxes/rails for very long, but compared to my 1080s which delamed with no rail/box use, ill take my 4frnts any day. as to my bindings i have some look p12s, and i love them, i have never had a pre-release and they seem (i havent tested or looked up weights to compare with the s912) much lighter.

yeah i hate this. the guys at my local shop talk about how shitty armadas are and how poorly constructed my stl's are. they were saying armadas are bad because the topsheet gets scratched easy, and my stl's are bad because the core isnt made of high quality wood.

but why does it matter how they are constructed or what they are made of. i dont care if my skis are made of gold, if they dont ski well i dont like them. the material doesnt matter as long as it works.
then they talk about how great dynastars are, but the edges which actually matter are shitty as hell. and they dont seem to care that my 1080's turned to shit after 5 months, as long as they are made of good material.

i saw a liberty ski snap over someones leg, like a pool cue in the shape of a ski.

and liberty is only gonna get better, same with all the other independent companys, while the big companys arent gonna give a shit and just wanna make money.

i love how people hate the fact that for once a ski company made a freestyle ski that isnt a noodle and is beefy like a race, ski. It needed to be done, liberty did it, at least now we can ski somewhere out side the park

they had problems last year. so what? theyre a new company, and as far as you know, they pulled their stuff together for this season and are now making the sickest skis on the market. we cant tell until we're a ways into the season
