ive seen a bunch of people with burton stuff in their entourage this year, i remember a while ago when it was taboo for skiers to wear burton, or a boarder to rock siver (which ive seen alot of) have your views changed on 'intermixing' brands? and would you rock a sick ass sean white jacket? that kids got some mad style.

i feel the same way. burton is like the mcdonalds of the snowsports industry. they're opening a shop in soho this year.
that being said, i do have two pairs of burton socks. so i guess i'm a hypocrite.

burton is the mcdonalds of the snowsports industry? don't pretend that there is a company out there, whether or not it focusses on skiing or snowboarding, that gives a fuck about you.
its called business kids, business within a capitalist mould. its about money, no one gives a fuck what coat you wear, chances are they are all made in the same sweatshop in vietnam, china, bangladesh, india................. you might as well represent white pride if you think that you are being properly represented by a clothing company.

why not open a shop in soho? people from nyc snowboard too. it just brings the purchasing closer to them. i love how people neglect to consider that it is a business & that shop is going to make them a shitload of money which in turn goes back into new products, snowboarders, skiers, and their employees. burton is extremely generous to their employees.
burton makes great quality products that look sick. wear whatever you want.

I don't care for Burton because of the quality of their stuff. Not because they are a snowboard brand...
I still ride a snowboard from time to time so it's really not about Burton being a snb brand.
I find that their apparel is cheap. Even their top level stuff is more focused on the features then the protection.
Plus everybody is wearing the stuff.

snowboard company clothes are fine for skiiers because they were meant for "snow sports" so esentially they are the same thing. its like anon, i mean theyre made by a snowboard company but are they for snowboarders only? please...goggles can be used by anyone

Uh, i have burton pants, and they have held up to a sh!t ton of abuse. Very nice product in my opinion.
Seriously who cares what label is on it, everything comes from the same factory.
Uh I also have anon goggles, also quality product.

i have analog outfits, burton outfits, and marmot outfits. all serve me well, and i would purchase from all three companies again. the analog stuff is my favorite though, plus they will be sponsoring skiers in the not-so-distant future.

i disagree with the fact that companies dont care who or what they represent, they just want money... brands like siver, and ninethwards(whether you hate em or not) target such a small market that they have to comply with the desires of the customer, they need you to beleive in their style and what they represent, or they wont make it through the season... that being said, is it more important to support a smaller skiing company to try to boost our industries 'money hungry administration?'

it all depends because some of the burton shit is actually lokoing pretty good i have to admit...but it just pisses me off when i see boarders wearing siver stuff (unless they support skiing) becasue all the boarders i know that wear that stuff are all against skiing yet they wear our products?

"snowboard specific" companies have a larger selling base so they can afford to sell a little cheaper than the ski companies. And it's in my experience that it's more common for a skier to wear snowboard specific, than it would be for a snowboarder to wear skier specific.
And as far as burton quality? Shit is crazy good. High waterproofing and durable material. And reasonably priced (compared to stuff like Orage).

i've got 2 foursquare jackets and 2 pairs of foursquare pants along with a sessions jacket and orage pants and the fs stuff is way nicer for a better price. i got orage 10,000mm waterproofing pants for about the same price as 25,000 mm waterproofing fs pants.

When I ski the only non-Burton stuff Ihave on are the skis, boots and goggles. I snowboard half the time though, so it's OK.
