Purchasing a laptop, need help

I am in the market for a laptop to do several things: Gaming (World of Warcraft), and also editing such as Photoshop and Flash. I am aware that apples are no doubt the best for Photoshop and Flash, but am concerned that they will not be able to run high end video games. Also i have spent a reasonable amount of time searching on different brands websites, and it doesn't seem that i can customize the Video Card on teh iBook which would present a large problem. Furthermore, i don't completely understand the new "M" chips...what would be equal to say a 3.0 Ghz with HT? So anyways waht laptop would you say would be right for me? Let's say top price is $1500, no exceptions.

From what I understand, the M chips are more efficient than Pentium 4 chips, so an M chip that is 2gh runs faster than a Pentium 4 that is 2gh for sure. Just get lots of ram and that will help for both gaming and photoshop/flash and spend the rest on a decent graphics card.

if you want a good gaming laptop...try and find one with a seperate video card (i havent seen too many myself in your price range) or get one with a gig of ram at least.

yeah if you want a highend gaming laptop, you're going to have to expect to pay more money. Especially if you want to get a Powerbook. Obviously Apple will be better for the editing, but I have no idea what its like for gaming. On the other hand, Dell makes an unbelievalbe gaming laptop, although its expensive. I personally like Dell because the warranty you are able to get with them.

I think i'm leaning towards gettign a Dell XPS then. I know macs are sweet, but gaming is more important that photoshop and flash, so i guess i'll just get a gig of RAM, a 100 gig HD, and 256 MB graphics card, and a nice chip for the dell.

The ibook doesn't have an option for video cards....
