My opinion piece on extreme sports

People believe that extreme sports are very dangerous and pose unnecessary risks. It is thought that many people die every year due to extreme sports. I believe that extreme sports aren’t unacceptably dangerous as long as the person doing it is well prepared and has the proper training.
Preparation can make all the difference when it comes to extreme sports. Many of the deaths that occur due to extreme sports are to people without proper equipment and preparation. For example before many professionals go heli skiing the check the conditions and dangers such as the chance of and avalanche. Also when they go they carry along proper equipment such as a two way radio and a ……… so even if an avalanche does occur their chances of survival are greatly increased. In almost every extreme sport there is equipment that could save many lives yet some people are to ignorant or lazy to get the proper safety info and purchase this equipment that may one day save their life. Also some people think that because they are really good and all that, that all this safety stuff does not apply to them but from what I have seen even the very best get into these kind of situations where a simple tool could save their life.
When you are doing extreme sports the amount of skill and training you have obviously reduces the risk of fatal injury. I believe that a lot of the deaths are caused by lack of training in some people attempting a sport. So when some one with improper training dies attempting something way above their skill level it makes the sport look dangerous when actually some people are just too ……… to get the proper training ruining the sport for all the people who know how to do it. In my opinion if your not going to get the proper training don’t do the sport many deaths could be prevented and it wont give the sport a bad name (to dangerous and poses an unacceptable risk). Yes I will admit that even people with proper training and equipment do die but that is a lot less then people say. I think the majority of the deaths are easily preventable. (Getting equipment and training) An example is the x-games; it is basically 100% extreme sports. Have you ever seen anyone die in these games? It is because these people have been properly trained and know what they are doing. Of coarse there are injuries, but honestly what sport nowadays doesn’t have injuries.
So in conclusion many of the deaths that occur in extreme sports are do to the person’s ignorance rather then the sport itself. I think extreme sports are acceptable and safe as long as the person is well prepared and trained.
Feel free to tell me any ideas you might have to add and it would be nice if someone could help me come up with a third supporting paragraph thanks

if you're making a point about safety equipment ignored by some, talk about helmets.

Your "opinion piece" on "extreme sports" fails based solely on the fact that you called the sports "extreme". What the fuck, are you trying to insult people? "Extreme"? Suck a dick bitch.

here is what iv got now
and prolly wat im ponna hand in iv fixed it up a bit
It’s not the sport that is the problem but instead the people
People believe that extreme sports are very dangerous and pose unnecessary risks.
Image also plays a key role in the safety of extreme sports. I think that the reason people avoid wearing some equipment is because they think it is not “cool”. An example of this is a helmet. When many people do various extreme sports they avoid wearing a helmet because it doesn’t look cool or they are too good to wear one. Some people think that because they are really good and all-that, that all this safety stuff does not apply to them but from what I have seen even the very best get into these kinds of situations where a simple tool could save their life. I say get over yourself even if you are the best and even if you are amazing it doesn’t mean you are invincible. I think they have to stop being so full of themselves and realize they can still die. Think of it this way what is more important your life or how “cool" you look and your “pride”?
So in conclusion many of the deaths that occur in extreme sports are do to the person’s ignorance and over confidence (being full of themselves thinking they are to good for safety equipment) rather then the sport itself. I think extreme sports are acceptable and safe as long as the person is well prepared and trained.

Have you seen Extreme Ops? Wow, that movie is sweet! Devun Sawa pretty much makes the movie, his white boy braids are the coolest, and he doesn't wear poles. And the snowboarders do backfulls, I love it, oh yeah, and at the beginning of the movie, the guy does a 1080 superman, on mountain bike off a cliff. So extreme, maybe you should go to the video store and rent it or something.

You don't have to be an asshole. An example of a non extreme sport would be golf, you swing a club. I would say bombing chads gap switch at 54 miles an hour is pretty fucking extreme compared to a 300 yard drive. I would say climbing a massive vertical face with no harness, depending only on your own strength to live is pretty fucking extreme. The label extreme hasn't been dead, and shouldn't be. If sports are changing, they are defentently
becoming more extreme, not less.
