ive noticed in past seasons that "free"skiing has been becoming less free. from riding to competing, our little sport is being molested by stupid outsiders that realize that we have something we enjoy, so why shouldnt they try to corrupt it.
over the summer i was turned away from a wateramp for not being on a team. instantly i was depressed by this aerial natzi, so i totally disregarded him and any other staff at the event. furthermore, ive constantly run in to people that try to control our events to make them organized. the word organized is the downfall of freeskiing.
so,if you should show up to your local mountian and find you have signed up for a rail meet, you must protest. talk shit to coaches, ski school clowns, racers and "organizers", because these people have ruined skiing for themselves with their rules, teams, and gates.
Information on "freeskiing underground" will be released this season, support or race.

line/siver rail jam, they are always successful, free, poorly organized and a boat load of fun. Freeski underground or meet.

you may see it as they are taking the fun out of it, but the way i see it they are the glue that holds the industry together. the are progressing skiing, getting us more and more coverage, getting more sponsored skiers.
join a team

your crew and local mountain is all you need to hold the "industry" together. join a crew not a team.

I think you need the organizers to promote the sport. More attention to the sport will create better skiiers and better parks, and lets face it; every one likes to see some one throw down and everyone likes a good park.

F.U. doesnt welcome youngsters that cannot think for themselves. YOU can be the organizer, not your mom or coach, please just dont post if you don't like, support or understand this thread.

Who the hell calls it a "meet"??? "Meets" are for diving, track and racing... not skiing. And organization is key to putting on a good contest. Especially if you want any crowd what-so-ever. You can't tell all your friends and spectators "Hey... its really un-organized, so it could start anywhere from like 4-6.. and maybe end at midnight." you have to have things on time, in a slightly organized manner so people don't get cheated, etc.

Ya man, thats cool, I've been in comps that are a Jam set up and I agree, they're way better than waiting for a half an hour to jump. But in order to get riders together, rails up, amps, prizes and sponsors for event, you need an organizer. I like the big events with the music and crowd and stuff.
The juvenile mudslinging: nice.

yo, so you saying that all the mount snow kids, like myself, that you rode with and were totally cool with you dislike because we're ski school kids? i understand and i agree about the whole free part, but, don't hate on someone simply for being in the situation theyre in. i mean, i ski to ski, i love to ski, a nd that's that. free, not free, fuck it.. im skiing. thats basically my ending point, i duno man, peace.

im not sure who you are, but im down with msa and wva. in fact, i almost was a coach this year. the thing on my head is these EVENTS that arent what they should be. and people organizing events for the wrong purpose. im on the side of skiing thats for progression for ourselves, and no one else.

I'm looking to have some fun. And if all you want to do is progress, get your freinds and just ski. Contest and the whole deal should be of no consequence.
