Replying to Need help and snow

Live in california and wanting to come out to colorodo for 3 days. Can't handle it anymore with no snow in tahoe. So I'll be coming out in December, somthing like 12-14th. Can someone tell me two things, best resort open now, good snow coverage and a place to stay. If someone can suggest somthing kind of cheap or put me up for couple of days.
