Ok well, im kinda new to freestyle skiing, im about 5'4" 110 and im 15, and the ski shop said that a good twin tip was up to my chin, about 160ish, but i read all the threads that say bigger is better, so what should i ride? I was thinking that spinning and grinding would be easyer with 160s or less (i was thinkin 150 somehting ar3s)so that i could spin more, what do u think?
Alright dude, so here is the deal- DON'T get anything in the 150's. You will outski it after two weeks. Go at least into the 160's, you will want something that big for sure. You might want to even think about going to a 170-173 just because it will force you to be a better skier. Do you think you are going to grow anymore? In that case get them longer than you think you need. There are plenty of kids on this site who are your size and ride in the 170's. Yes, they may have more experience, but you can get used to longer skis in no time. Remember that a twin tip ski will ski like a normal ski that is 3-4+cm shorter than a non twin ski (a 170 twin will ski like a 167 non twin because the tail doesn't touch the snow). Good luck.
