how does my not having a great knowledge over sweatshirts make me a moron? chill man. and actually many people ski in sweatshirts, and just have more layers underneath.

For spring, probably. Your link just directs to the homepage anyway. You can also layer them under your shell, but on wet days a cotton layer provides no insulation. Best for dry semi-cold days with a shell over them.
