Well it's wood and it is thick underfoot and thin in the nose and tail, i'm not sure if they laminate two different densities into the core, but that would make sense, anyways, it equals a pretty solid ski that pops and butters like no other.

its horizontaly laminated, like plywood, or a skateboard, as opposed to most skis which are vertically laminated like a wood cutting board. This gives them the spring blade effect because as the ski tapers down, some layers are shorter than others,
it also adds weight because it requires more glue in the core
