if you were not materialistic, you might say 'get me whatever you want because all i care about is your love' or something like that. i wouldn't expect a chick to actually seriously look at what ring she wants her boyfriend to get her. plus, how do you know he really cares when he doesn't get something that comes from the heart? sounds to me like he just wants to pay for your happiness. I told him that it doesn't matter, but he says that he wants to give me something that I can look at and be reassured of his love for me or something like that. And I told him that if he decided to get me a ring, then I wanted it to be a suprise, but he says he wants to get me something I really like and to find a few examples and he'll pick out the final ring. A lot of people do stuff like that.

yeah, alot of people DO do stuff like that, and it's lame. he'd rather just tell you what to get him and not take the time/effort to hunt around for something himself. yeah, sounds like true love right there. and by saying 'alot of people do stuff like that' only proves that he's just like every other guy. i thought the whole point of having a boyfriend was because he was somebody different.... not like everyone else.

i would never buy a girl a ring. i would make it of the rawest metal i could fine. that i mined my self in the deep jungles of the sahara desert, then would poke each one of my fingers so they bleed (kinda like a diabetic you know?) drip my blood on the raw material, begin to forge it with my bare hands. with my sweat and tears i would acid etch "i love you" in the ring, and when i finally had a metal object that looked like a ring i would give it a nice spit shine. give it to my one and only and say "here bitch." thats what a real man would do?
